Sharing The Love

It takes a Village to Raise A Child… Being apart of a Village is the same as having a family. We love each other, support each other and most importantly we protect one another.

I was thinking of ways to promote other Women. Although my main objective is to remain unique and stand out at the same time, I’ve decided to use an upcoming slogan used by the millennial these days.

“According to LifewireWCW is an acronym that means “Women Crush Wednesday.” It’s a popular hashtag that began on Twitter as a way to tag posts about women that people admire or find attractive. It then spread to other social networks like Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr.”

WCW in my opinion, is to show appreciation to and admiration of a Woman.

As an African-American Woman born in the inner city, my goal is to introduce to Young Girls and Women all across the world Role Models. Role Models that are not only relatable but accessible. When I see faces of celebrities like Gabrielle Union, Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, Rosalind Brewer, Michelle Obama and the likes, it gives me a sense of Mudita.

I first heard of the word Mudita in a book called:

The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World

___By Dalai Lama XIV

Mudita is a pure joy unadulterated by self-interest. When we can be happy of the joys other beings feel, it is called mudita.

“If I am only happy for myself, many fewer chances for happiness. If I am happy when good things happen to other people, billions more chances to be happy!”   -The Dalai Lama

But I’m pretty sure we would feel more determined and inspired if we knew and saw more Women closer to home!

Each Wednesday I will feature my WCW. These women have made strides in their career, shown amazing involvement in their community, overcame adversity or are just kick @$$ Bosses! and simply amazing Women.
